What Should I Clean my Lesion with Before Applying Curaderm?

There are many products that you can use to clean your lesion with during treatment with Curaderm but treating the lesion for infection is not always necessary.

Curaderm BEC5 contains Salicylic Acid which is obtained from Willow Tree Bark and also Urea, these ingredients will help prevent you from any infection during treatment.

But of course of at any stage during treatment with Curaderm you are concerned that you may have an infection or you are just concerned, please consult your Doctor or email us at admin@curadermbec5.com.

During treatment with Curaderm, people often think they have an infection but chances are this is just the dead cancer cells. If you experience discharge or fluid during treatment with Curaderm it is more than likely dead cancer cells that are being ‘mopped up’ by phagocytes (white blood cells).

If you are worried and you would like to use a infection prevention product here are some suggestions: –

  • Dettol
  • Peroxide
  • Mentholated Spirits
  • Hibiclens
Please do not use: –
  • Neosporin

After treating the lesion with these products, please rinse the lesion with water and than dry completely (without rubbing the lesion) before applying the Curaderm cream.

Please note that some of these products can add to any skin sensitivity you maybe experiencing during treatment and create a more intense stinging sensation. This is why it is best to sometimes not use any infection prevention products at all as Curaderm should prevent you from infection anyhow.
